Partnership funding
Since 1999, MLA has encouraged commercial investment in innovation through its fully owned subsidiary - MLA Donor Company (MDC). MDC accelerates innovation across the value chain so the Australian red meat and livestock industry can remain competitive on the world stage. It does this by attracting commercial investment from individual enterprises and others that share a mutual interest to co-invest in innovation that will benefit the industry.
The Australian Government matches voluntary partner contributions (up to 50%) through the MDC, where eligible projects deliver outcomes that address broader industry and/or government priorities and benefit the entire industry.
Find out more information about MDC.
Plant initiated project program
The plant initiated project program was jointly developed by MLA and the Australian Meat Processor Corporation (AMPC) Limited to encourage shared R&D funding between AMPC member processors and MLA. To access AMPC funding (up to 25% of total project cost), members must agree to match this figure dollar for dollar.
